Mapping the Movements and Behaviors of Central Park Squirrels
How do squirrel behaviors vary across space, time of day, fur color, and interactions with humans in Central Park?
About the dataset
This project uses the NYC Squirrel Census dataset, which includes 3,000 recorded squirrel sightings across Central Park. The data captures location coordinates, morning vs evening observations, fur color categories, and behavior and human-interaction variables such as running, climbing, foraging, approaching people, and running from people.
